The summer course for 2013 on Earthquake and Engineering Seismology was concluded on 22 June 2013. It was a highly successful course as it included an intensive classroom-on-wheels excursion to North Iceland, attending the first International Workshop on Earthquakes in North Iceland in Husavik, and guest-lecturers Carlos S. Oliveira from Lisbon Technical University in Portugal, and John Osteraas from Exponent Engineering and Scientific Consulting in Menlo Park, California, USA.

Following the course the international activities at the Centre continued, with three summer interns from France visiting for seven weeks of research.
